Employment and Training Program

Whether you are an established tradesman or looking to start a new career I am always on the lookout for talented individuals.  I truly believe trade skills are in the blood... you either have it or you don't.  If you have it, are hardworking, have a good work ethic and are reliable I will help fine tune your skills and the sky is the limit.

I take great pride in my work and company so you will do very well if you reflect that when I am on site or not.  You must have your own vehicle and valid drivers license.

Helper to Technician Training Program

Helper I (0-3 months) $15/hr

Must Show a strong work ethic, this includes but is not limited to arriving on time (usually around 830), staying focused on the task at hand and learning the ins and outs of various trades.  Reviews will be conducted monthly to ensure you are a good fit and meeting expectations.

~ Set up painting and cutting stations

~ Clean work areas during and after project daily

~ Load and unload tools and materials up to 80lbs usually

~ Keep van and tools clean and organized

~ Use a roller and paint doors

Helper II (3-6 months) $17.5/hr

In addition to maintaining the above the the following will be reviewed monthly and expected:

~ Have a good understanding of what tools, rollers, saws and materials will be needed to accomplish the task at hand

~ Anticipate and have ready tools and materials ready what I need for the next step in the project before I ask.

~ Begin to be able to use a brush and cut straight lines painting walls.

Helper III (6-12 months) $19/hr

In addition to the responsibilities of I & II

~ Know how to do handyman work on your own.  Tasks such as: Hang pictures and mirrors, hang curtains and blinds, assemble premade furniture such as Ikea units.

~ Be well on the way to plaster and drywall repairs

~ Efficiently and precisely be able to paint a room, ceiling, trim, doors and walls without instructios.

~ Communicate with integrity representing McWilliams Handyman Solutions with customers.  Poaching side work and speaking ill of supervisors or the company will not be tolerated.  All work generated from clients, neighbors and their families must be reported to your supervisor.

~ Work efficiently without supervision and complete tasks given in a timely manner.

Technician to Foreman Training Program

Technician I (0-3 months) $20/hr

Must have painting and carpentry tools and reliable Transporation for you, your tools and basic materials.  3+ years experience required with references.  All helper responsibilities and expectations apply.

~ Be able to perform quality general carpentry, painting and tile tasks.

~ Have knowledge of all phases of the projects sold

~ Communicate with integrity representing McWilliams Handyman Solutions with customers.  Poaching side work and speaking ill of supervisors or the company will not be tolerated.  All work generated from clients, neighbors and their families or while on the job site must be reported to your supervisor.

Technician II (3-6 months) $22.5/hr

You will be left alone in this role and must be able to manage a helper provided by my training program in this role.

You will be a unit with a helper at this point.  All above applies, ESPECIALLY the integrity, representing this company at all times and attention to detail.

Technician III (6-12+ months) $25/hr

In addition to all of the above you must be efficient in building my signature mantles and built-ins.  Gearing up for your role as a foreman you will be expected to generate 1 lead per month.

Foreman (must graduate the training program)

Base income $30/hr + 5% commission of 1 tech/helper unit you manage + 5% commission on work sold

You will manage a tech/helper unit as well as train and develop a new helper using my methods through the helper training program.

Your sales expectations will be a minimum of 3 referrals per month from either current customers or your own network.

Begin to manage technicians through the training program as well and you will receive commissions from every unit trained and gnerated.
